Bank of Agriculture and JDPMC collaborate to give Loan to targeted Rural Community Farmers in Osun.
In attempt to increase agricultural practice indexes in Nigeria thereby boosting food security system and giving a push to her Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the economy ranking, the Bank of Agriculture in collaboration with the Justice, Development and Peace Makers’ Centre (JDPMC), Osogbo set to give Micro-Credit Loan to the targeted rural community farmers across Osun state.
The Manager of the Bank of Agriculture, Osogbo branch, Osun state, Mrs.Olukemi Olusesi disclosed this during a partnership meeting with Rural Development team of the Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre which was held in Oke-Ayepe, Osogbo.
Olusesi said the Micro-Credit Loan became necessary so as to communicate agricultural empowerment crusade to the community farmers at the grassroots, where seventy-five percent of the food productions were being largely produced. She also noted that, the effort would go a long way as it had the capacity to give local productions a strong push at the international market.
“There is a need to bring this knowledge of truth to the grass roots in order to help and build the rural community farmers’ capacity, given to the fact seventy-five percent of the farm produces emanate from them and by so doing we are giving economy of the nation a better push and face lift,
Our background check and record of the JDPMC really justified it, for this reason, Bank of Agriculture is pitching it tent with the JDPMC of all Non-governmental Organizations in the Osun State. We have done it together before and this is why we are doing again”.
Speaking, the General Coordinator of the JDPMC, Rev.Peter Akinkunmi represented by the Chief Finance Officer, Mr.Patrick Osunkolati assured the team of bank of Agriculture that management of the JDPMC would develop a framework to the effect and ensure that the identified opportunity is effectively and efficiently harnessed.
