Children’s Day: JDPMC felicitates with Children,promises unalloyed support for them.

Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre  has felicitated with all the Children across Nigeria especially the vulnerable ones in the Osun State on occasion of their epoch-making celebration Day.

This is contained in a Children’s Day message  signed by the General Coordinator,Rev.Fr. Peter Akinkunmi of the Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre through the Programme Supervisor of the department of Integrated Human Development, Mrs. Juliet Akande in Oke-Ayepe, Osogbo.

 According to him “In as much as children deserve the best of care, there is no doubt about the fact that many Nigerian Children are faced with untold hardship and abuse. They are at the receiving end of the poor socio-economic state of the country, these vulnerable children are faced with daunting challenges that snatch their childhood from them.

 Our heart and hands are open to all the children of the World, we celebrate you particularly our heart goes out to all the children whose childhood have been cut short by being forced to become house-hold Heads so early in life, the orphans, children who are enslaved in all forms of child labour, children who do not enjoy basic education, children from broken homes, children who are going through all forms of torture and abuse.

We also this occasion to identify with children with disabilities, and those battling with one disease or the other. The entire noble family of JDPMC wishes you a pleasant children’s Day celebration. May your tears be wiped and may you always be comforted in the hope that We and Our partners shall continue to work assiduously to ensure you have a great future and your beautiful souls deserve as We defend and protect your rights. Therefore we say happy Children’s  Day bright lights of our future.”

Rev.Fr. Akinkunmi further noted that it was very crucial for the parents and guardians to live up to their responsibilities as the Anchors so as not to incur the wrath of God as children are the heritage of God of whom must treated as such.

He therefore reaffirmed the Commitment and rock-solid passion of  JDPMC with the collaborative  support of their partners to Child protection and  welfare with the holistic development of our communities in perspective.

 

 

 

OSUN MINERS JUBILATE, AS JDPMC REACHES OUT TO THEM WITH FREE HEALTH CARE SERVICES • Describe the kind Gesture as timely and highly valued.

It was a moment of realization of the in-depth meaning of the saying “Health is Wealth” as Miners and association of Tipper drivers’ in Ilesa Atakumosa West Local Government of Osun State were visited by Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre Osogbo and provided with free medical outreach.

The free medical outreach was part of the on-going activities in promoting radical HIV/AIDS prevention and the adoption of healthier behaviour especially among the Miners.

Setting a record straight on the philosophy behind the outreach, the Programme Supervisor, Mrs. Juliet Akande who led the team noted that “Miners by the nature of their jobs work tirelessly with little cognizance of their Health status. They can be said to have less than an acceptable Health seeking behaviour.”

She stressed further thatJustice, Development and Peace Makers’ Centre whose main goal is the holistic development of mankind undertook the  free Medical Outreach to extend the organization’s act of love to the Miners and Tipper Drivers. This has paid off and it can be vividly seen now that the turn out here today has really justified our coming.”

Health talk on Health awareness and the need for improved Health behaviour were parts of the matters they were sensitized about. The targeted groups and other willing community members were given opportunities to have blood pressure checks, determination of Body Mass Index, HIV Counselling and Testing (HCT) as well as prompt referral to the next level of care for those in need of such services.

Speaking on behalf of the Members of the targeted group and host community, Baba Iwa Olukani expressed gratitude to JDPMC and their amiable Partners for their thoughtfulness and consideration of the members of the groups, he added that with the activities there will definitely be an improvement in the Health and Wellness of the entire community.

“Use the Training received to educate your Peers in the Communities on HIV/AIDS” – JDMPC urges 175 peer educators.

In a bid to reduce the incidence rate of HIV and death attributable to AIDS in Osun state communities. JDPMC with support from Vastenactie , Netherlands trained 175 out of  School youths as peer educators. Understanding the fact that the youths are major Actors in the issues concerning the spread of HIV.  It is pertinent that the trained youths must be the positive change agents and role models for their peers. JDPMC trains and empowers hundred indigent Parents.

As part of the efforts to protect children’s right and promote decent upbringing of Vulnerable children within Osun State communities, the Integrated Human Development of Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre Osogbo in collaboration with Kindermission werk, has trained One hundred primary care givers of vulnerable Children on small business management after which they were empowered with monetary grants as a form of revolving fund within the different targeted Local Government Areas. O-SACA Applauds JDPMC for its Social developmental Stride.

The Project Manager of Osun state Agency for the control of HIV also known as O-SACA, Dr. Akin Oyebade has commended Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre (JDPMC) of Osogbo Diocese for its large-scale efforts in Social and Human Intervention Programmes which over the years have been yielding positive results across the nooks and crannies of the State.

Dr. Oyebade gave the Commendation during an Advocacy Visit to his Office by the Team of Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre led by the General Coordinator, Rev. Fr. Peter Akinkunmi.

According to Dr. Oyebade, the Social and Human development Programmes and Initiatives which Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre of Osogbo Diocese had been embarking on over the years were never ceased to make great impacts on the General Public cutting across Health Sensation programmes, Youth Empowerment Initiatives, Environmental maintenance and Human Rights Crusade.

A brilliant Human Interventions which he described as good steps towards a right direction, added that it was extremely important to do more until Osun State and Nigeria were totally free from the biting Scourge of HIV, Poverty and stigma of underdevelopment while pledging his unalloyed support to Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre in the fight against HIV and other areas necessary in order to achieve their common Goals.

“I must admit that, you have been a wonderful covenant partner in progress and of all, you stand out in the area of Human Intervention initiatives which cut across every Human’s endeavour. I commend your Zeal and burning passion to make Nigeria a better place for all.

My Agency will not leave any stone unturned to support you so as to ensure that we together achieve and conquer our common Enemy either in Cash or kind, especially in the aspect of structural strategy,” He affirmed.

He also reiterated his Agency’s Commitment to her organization core values which were to eradicate HIV/AIDS totally in the Country by year 2030, thereby raising standard of balanced Health and good standard of living for every Nigerian. He however called for more multi-various supports from all stakeholders in Nigeria.

Speaking, the General Coordinator of the Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre (JDPMC) Rev. Fr. Akinkunmi expressed his unquantified delight for ever ready will and hands of fellowship often extended to the JDPMC by the Osun State Agency for the Control of HIV of which he best regarded as golden hands.

He vowed that all the support and kind gesture would not be taken for granted. Rev. Fr. Akinkunmi also used medium to extensively x-ray other vital area of strengths of the JDPMC that have been immense chain of multiplier of good effects to the Society and Osun State at large.

“We have enjoyed so much of your symbiotic relationship even before I assumed power as a General Coordinator. I went through the past reports, it read well. This shows your level of self-sacrificial Spirits  in the mission for social developmental efforts. I acknowledge and value the support, I believe we can still do more and so I assure you that it will not be taken for granted, “He said.

In his contribution, the Head of Procurement for Osun State Agency for the Control of HIV (O-SACA), Mr. Julius Oyeleke noted that there was a need for the two Organizations to harmonize in the research efforts most importantly in the Data collection so as to avoid double efforts and thereby arriving at accurate and precision Recommendations.

Responding the Head of Integrated Human Development for the Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre, Mrs. Juliet Akande and the field programme Officer, Mrs. Damilola Arowolo acknowledged the gray area drew attention to and promised to come with an action planned Strategy that would fit the purpose.

A Group of Youths and WSRN Declare Zero Tolerance Against Vote buying and Election Violence.

A group of Youths and Women in the Osun State under Auspices of Women’s Situation Room Nigeria had declared their Solidarity of Zero Tolerance against Vote buying and Election Violence in the 2019 forthcoming general Polls.

The Group made this known at a Forum tagged Youths Dialogue and Women’s Stakeholder Meeting held in Bishop’s Court Hall Oke Ayepe, Osogbo organised by Women’s Situation Room Nigeria with a Theme: Building Collaborative Peace towards Improving Gender Equality and Women Empowerment.
