JDP Oyo, Ibadan, Ondo pitch tent with JDPMC Osogbo to form common reform Agenda.
The three regional wests of the Justice, Development and Peace Centres in Nigeria, Oyo, Ibadan and Ondo States had reaffirmed their commitment to forming Unity of purpose and common agenda mechanisms with Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre of Osogbo in a bid to push the cause of the Human and Community Developments forward.
This is contained in a statement jointly signed and made available to the newsmen by the team leaders of each state, Barr. Adenike Ibitara of Ibadan, Mr.Rasaq Olasunkanmi of Oyo and Mr. Valentine Agabi of Ondo shortly after the fruitful Provincial exchange which started with the arrival of participants on 15th of July, 2019 and was concluded on the 16th of July, 2019.
According to them “As long as the concerted effort is not geared towards the targeted goals in the Community Developments, there is little to what can be achieved in regard to it. This is why it is essential we forge a strong common agenda and reform mechanisms that will last and create an effective change on the cause we stand for and known for in our respective climes.
However, we must appreciate Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre of Osogbo for putting up this kind of knowledge sharing and transfer as a way of engendering result-oriented strategies that will take the cause of development to the enviable height.
In their remarks, Mr. Festus Ojewumi of the Department of Democracy and Good Governance and Barr. Veronica Onoja of the Justice and Human Right of the Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre of Osogbo noted that the provincial exchange was a purposive programme designed to create a team bond for the JDPCs in Ibadan Province to present their exploits that have been recorded in community development to one another in the six regional JDPs in Nigeria.
Conclusion: There is no shadow of doubt that the aim of the One day meeting had been justified through cross-fertilization of ideas and great exchange that took place. It was a fruitful and refreshing period for all the participants present to showcase their prowess in community development work and also to learn new things for further improvement in project execution. The exchange came to an end with group photographs taken by all the participants.
