Osun State Local Government Election has come and gone, but different occurrences that played out before, during and after the election remains unforgettable.

In this report, Justice, Development and Peace Makers’ Centre provides Civil Society perspectives of the Osun State 2025 Local Government Election that was conducted in February, 22, 2025.

The report gives different perspectives of the Local Government Election in Nigeria using Osun State as Case Study. A CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST AS 2023 ELECTION WATCHER

Justice, Development and Peace Makers’ Centre, Osogbo with funding support from European Union is implementing a project under EU Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria (EU-SDGN) Programme Phase II. The project which is to promote inclusive, Participatory, Accountable and Representative Democratic Governance in Osun, Ekiti and Oyo States of Southwest Nigeria ahead of the 2023 general election seeks to address the issue of low women and Youth Political Participation, marginalization of Persons with Disability during Election and addressing electoral Violence in Nigeria.

In achieving these objectives, JDPMC hereby calls for application from interested individuals who will be willing to be accredited election watchers in the 2023 general elections.  The selected individual shall be trained and deployed to track Campaign Finance Expenditures of the Political Party, track and report cases of gender-based violence before, during and after the general election in their respective LGAs of Osun State.
