JOB TITLE

Program Officer

Job Description:

  • Support in Implementing program projects
  • Providing technical support, training and mentoring to beneficiaries on Agricultural and community development-related activities
  • Participate in conducting assessments, surveys and group discussions with the target population
  • Establishing and managing relationships with relevant stakeholders and beneficiaries to the achievement of the organization’s goal
  • Monitor project deliverables and report on them in a timely manner
  • Document issues/challenges and follow through for timely resolution and closure
  • Report to the Program Manager directly on project activities in a timely manner.
  • Produce critical written analysis to inform project delivery, management decision-making, and strategic planning;

     

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree qualification from a reputable university (not lower than second class upper division) in Crop Production of Farm Management & Agric Extension
  • Adequate Knowledge of trends in development work.
  • Demonstrate aptitude capacity in project proposal design
  • Have a good facilitation capacity
  • Can work effectively with rural dwellers particularly the disadvantaged and vulnerable groups
  • Have a good analytical capacity
  • Ability to identify and develop creative and innovative approaches to monitor activity outcomes and support the program team to evolve and improve activities design and implementation based on findings from action research
  • Sensitivity in working with multiple cultures and beliefs, and to gender equity
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Other computer-related skills could be an added advantage
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Job Description:

  • Document and track stakeholders’ feedback and pass on to the appropriate channels

Requirements

Program Support Staff (Driver)

Job Description:

  • Drive vehicles assigned to him for the purpose of carrying out activities of a Programme of the organization
  • Tidying and maintenance of vehicles assigned to him for duty
  • Driving with full adherence to all laws and bye-laws of the state pertaining to road safety
  • Provide support to programs when on the field

Requirements

  • a minimum National Diploma in any discipline from a reputable institution
  • more than two years of working experience in driving
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST AS 2023 ELECTION WATCHER

Justice, Development and Peace Makers’ Centre, Osogbo with funding support from European Union is implementing a project under EU Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria (EU-SDGN) Programme Phase II. The project which is to promote inclusive, Participatory, Accountable and Representative Democratic Governance in Osun, Ekiti and Oyo States of Southwest Nigeria ahead of the 2023 general election seeks to address the issue of low women and Youth Political Participation, marginalization of Persons with Disability during Election and addressing electoral Violence in Nigeria.

In achieving these objectives, JDPMC hereby calls for application from interested individuals who will be willing to be accredited election watchers in the 2023 general elections.  The selected individual shall be trained and deployed to track Campaign Finance Expenditures of the Political Party, track and report cases of gender-based violence before, during and after the general election in their respective LGAs of Osun State.

Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre (JDPMC), Osogbo is a Faith-based Charity, Non-Governmental, Non-Political, and Not-for-profit Organization, established for the promotion of social development activities aimed at improving the standard of living of people and their quality of life, alleviating the suffering of the oppressed, the marginalized and the less privileged by influencing public policies and empowering people to be self-reliant. it carries out the prophetic mission of the Catholic Church in the world through the social transformation of the society, especially in the areas of Democracy and Governance, Human Rights, Sustainable Rural Development, Environmental Education and Action, Preventive Health Awareness (HIV/AIDS), Women Empowerment, Youth Development, Promotion of Social Justice, Peace Building, as well as Conflict Resolution and Management without any bias to race, gender, religion, tongue and color.

We are calling for Female volunteers to support our operations in the area of Democracy and Good Governance:

Key Areas of Responsibility:

The successful candidate shall support the Program team in performing the following functions:

  • Participate in conducting assessments, surveys and group discussions with target population

Additional Responsibilities:

The Responsibilities (above) are not intended to be all-inclusive. The volunteer may also perform other related tasks as required and may be responsible for reporting and communicating progress and achievement of the specific assigned tasks within the agreed scheduled period of his/her availability.

Qualification and Experience:

Applicants must be highly resourceful and must be a female with:

  •  at least, Bachelor degree or equivalent from a reputable tertiary Institution (not lower than second class/Credit division)
  • Experience in the development or humanitarian sector and prior experience in similar engagement particularly in community participation/engagement-type project will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to speak and understand English and Yoruba languages fluently
  •  Prior experience in community participation/engagement-type project.
  •  Adequate Knowledge of trends in Political field.
  •  Ability to support the program team to evolve and improve design of activities and implementation.
  •  Ability to work at least two days in a week within the period he/she indicates to volunteer with efficient handling of assigned tasks and quick discovery of creative solutions to problems and challenges that  may arise as well as  managing stress and time in a fast-paced operating environment.
  •  Ability to foster and maintain a spirit of unity, teamwork, cooperation, and learning.
  •  Willingness and ability to travel within the agreed period and schedule of availability.
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  •  Sensitivity in working with multiple cultures and beliefs, and to gender equity.

Justice Development and Peace Makers’ Centre (JDPMC), Osogbo is the social Justice Department of the Catholic Diocese of Osogbo and the grassroots unit of the Dicastery of Integral Human Development of the Vatican existing in Osun state. As a Civil Society organization, it was registered with CAC in 2009. It has been working in Osun state with other stakeholders since 1995 as a faith-based, not-for-profit organization to build just social structure and develop human capital without bias to race, gender, religion, tongue, colour and political affiliation.

JDPMC calls for Application by Female volunteers for its Democracy and Good Governance Program:

Location: Osogbo, Osun State.

The selected candidate would benefit immensely and contribute to community development in the process of working with very experienced human resources and stakeholders through:

  • Participation in conducting assessments, surveys and group discussions with the target population
  • Documentation of issues/challenges
  • Documentation and tracking of stakeholders’ feedback

JOB PURPOSE

  1. Performs a wide variety of complex and confidential secretarial tasks for the organization.
  2. Schedules and coordinates appointment calendars for the Coordinator and the organization.
  3. Responds to sensitive requests for information and assistance from all staff on official matters.
  4. Provides ambassadorial representation for the Coordinator or the Organisation when necessary
  5. Composes and types directives, bulletins, schedules, and agendas;
  6. Makes arrangements for meetings and ensures that proceedings are properly recorded and archived.
  7. Maintains/archives the organizational administrative files and major documents
  8. Attends to visitors making complaints or requesting services in person or by telephone, in the absence of the receptionist / front-desk-officer.
  9. Reviews incoming correspondences, drafts responses on matters for which authority has been appropriately delegated, and provides necessary information, with the consent of the Coordinator, as relates to the organization, the departments or programme units.
  10. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work with other responsible persons to provide quality customer service on behalf of the organization.
  11. Performs other essential and marginal functions as assigned by the Legal holder, the Director or their delegate.
